Nicholas Lee Christian Fowler

January 21, 1988 - January 7,2011

 

On January 7th, 2011 ---  Nicholas Lee Christian Fowler was called home to his Shepherd.  Those of us that knew and loved him are so grateful for the time we shared with him......to know Nicholas was to love him. We had so many wonderful days together; just not enough wonderful years.

 

Nicholas will remain forever young in our hearts.  We will strive to keep his memory alive and  - even after his death – will do all we can to add more to the meaning of his life. In celebration of his life we have chosen to honor two of the things that were close to his heart, his high school and his love of animals.

  -- Nicholas was a 2007 graduate of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas (the 'Friday Night Lights' high school) and loved his years there.  In his memory, the Fowler family has established a scholarship fund that will benefit two members of each graduating class (one boy, one girl).  When making arrangements to establish this fund with officials at Permian High School, the family asked that the school try to identify students “...who plan to attend a college or university who may not have received much recognition" but are "worthy of some help in the estimation of PHS faculty and staff.”  Nicholas, with such kindness in his heart, would have wanted us to look out for others the way he looked out for others.

 

 

 -- Nicholas had a big heart for animals.  He once said - with humor in mind we can only hope - that he wouldn't ever want to be driving and find himself in a situation where he would have to choose between hitting an animal or hitting a person.......his straightforward solution to this ethical dilemma:  "I sure wouldn't want to hurt an animal.”  Fortunately for the pedestrians of Texas, Nicholas never had to face this situation.  Knowing how much "furry critters" meant to him, Nicholas' family would like to encourage support of Noah's Ark Animal Rescue & Refuge in Midland, Texas.  Donations can be made in the name of Nicholas Fowler at noahsarkmidland.com.  One hundred percent of all donations will go to the care and feeding of animals that have been abandoned or neglected........remember, Nicholas' nature was, as was said before, to look out for others.

 

 

Nicholas -- and his entire family -- are most grateful for any financial help that you choose to provide to either of these worthy causes.

 

Nicholas, we will miss you every minute of every day.  Please remember always that if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
